Podiatry , or podiatric medicine, is a field of healthcare devoted to the study and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and sometimes knee, leg and hip (collectively known as the lower extremity). Disorders of the feet and lower extremity can be the result of aging, injury, or diseases. A podiatrist, or foot doctor is a podiatric professional devoted to the study and medical treatment of these disorders.
